Finally, common sense to stop massive food waste!

Since May, Belgian supermarkets must donate unsold food still fit for consumption to charity.

“The move followed proposals by the European Union to scrap compulsory “best before” labels on coffee, rice, dry pasta, hard cheeses, jams and pickles to help reduce the estimated 100 million tons of food wasted across Europe each year.”

It's about time someone take concrete action to address food waste while so many folks are starving in the world's richest and poorest countries alike.
